Waite returns to NZST alongside Shaun Varney

Auckland driver, Andrew Waite will return to the wheel of a NZ SuperTourer when he partners with Shaun Varney in the Simply Leasing Ford at the TR Group V8 Festival at Hampton Downs, November 1-2.

Waite is a previous race winner in the series, having raced for Tasman Motorsports Group the last couple of seasons.

Waite, a full time advanced driving instructor at the Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell says he’s looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a NZ SuperTourer.

“They are great cars to drive, and I managed to snag a podium the last time I raced one at Hampton Downs, so we’ll see how we’ll go,” says Waite.

Varney, who is in just his second round in a NZ SuperTourer says he’s also excited to get to Hampton Downs and to partner with Waite.

“We learnt a lot at Taupo, which was my first weekend in the series. We had a few ups and downs, but overall it was a good experience. Andrew has a lot of experience, we should go well at Hampton Downs.”

Varney’s NZ SuperTourer is supported by Simply Leasing, Fairview Windows and Doors, Wattyl, BTi Logistics, Markham Accountants and Penny Homes.
